Who We Are
1) Jesus is the center.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God; glorified by the Spirit and the focus of our attention.
The Vineyard finds its foundation on Jesus the “Chief Cornerstone.” We are convinced that when “Jesus is lifted up, all people will be drawn to Him.”
“… at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow….” Phil. 2:10
2) We embrace the Word of God – the Bible.
God’s Word is true and guides our choices in life; it is the authority on which we stand.
We hold the Bible to be God’s actual words to us, through which He speaks today. We seek to actively listen to His word and daily apply it to our lives, individually, in small groups and as a collective gathering.
“Let the word of Christ richly dwell in you ….” Col. 3:16
3) We are created as worshippers.
Worship is to permeate all parts of life.
As image bearers of Christ, and instruments of worship, we are created to reflect God’s nature and character in all of life.
“… whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” I Cor. 10:31
4) We pursue community.
We engage each other through discipleship, gathered worship, and service.
The Church is God’s vehicle for cultivating, maturing and caring for the needs of believers. Each of us commits to lives of grace and accountability as we together seek transformation into the image of Jesus.
“… you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household….” Eph. 2:19
5) We join God in the work of restoration.
Jesus brings healing to a broken creation – our homes and streets, the neighborhood, the university, our city and beyond.
Jesus came and ministered to the lost and needy. His death and resurrection created the way to be reconciled to God. As His people, we are called to live out His love in words and actions.
“… to the extent that you did it to even the least of these, you did it to Me.” Matt. 25:40
